Elise is Founder and Executive Director of the Colorado Maker Hub Makers are creators in technology, the arts and sciences, and traditional artisan and DIY fields. Elise brought the first maker faire to Colorado in 2013, the NoCo Mini Maker Faire. With experience leading global corporate teams and growing social entrepreneur/nonprofit organizations, Elise has grown the nonprofit educational Colorado Maker Hub to be a wide-ranging alliance of makers and the businesses, educational institutions, and governmental organizations that make up the maker ecosystem. Elise and her team mentor new makerspaces, bring together existing members of the ecosystem to collaborate on Maker City projects, and advocate for makers from educators to entrepreneurs and everyone in between! This year Denver will be host to the first Feature Maker Faire in Colorado and surrounding states, to be produced by the Colorado Maker Hub team. She also invented Sparks & Spirits, a distillery tasting with artists that create with fire, light and sound, and represents Colorado as State Ambassador to the Nation of Makers and in many collaborations throughout the State and Rocky Mountain region.
