Scott Freeman is a fine art painter, storybook author/illustrator, and blogger. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and attended art college at the Kansas City Art Institute where he earned his BFA degree in painting (1982). He also met his artist wife there, and they now have 5 grown children. Scott worked as an artist/designer at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City for 10 years before moving the family to downtown Loveland, Colorado in 2001. He began pursuing his fine art career full time after moving to Loveland. His award-winning work is collected throughout the U.S. and overseas.

Since moving to downtown Loveland, Scott has been primarily involved in plein air painting, public art, live “art theater” painting performances, and most recently, writing and illustrating his own line of kids’ storybooks. You can view an example of Scott’s public art at the Loveland Library – a five-panel mural entitled “Loveland Mosaic.” You may have viewed one of Scott’s live painting performances at a TEDxFront Range segment, a Governor’s Art Show event, or at a front range church service. This year, at Loveland’s 2017 Fire and Ice Festival, Scott conceived, designed, and coordinated a community art project – a 13 x 15 foot community expression of the Mona Lisa with a “Sweet Heart City” twist. (Viewable on 4th street, downtown!)

You can see Scott and Mollie’s artwork locally at Otteman Arts at 211 Cleveland Ave, Loveland, CO 80537.
